The roadside was lined with stores. But it wasn't the market I was aiming for yet. This seemed to be more of a shopping street than a market. There was a grocery store selling piles of avocados on a wagon in front of the store, and there was also a hardware store. It had the feel of an old-fashioned shopping street. The old man in this photo was sitting in the storefront of a general merchandise store that was operating in one of these shopping streets in Cirebon.

Around the old man, various things were arranged in a miscellaneous manner. I could see a dustpan and a lot of strings that I didn't know what they were used for. Surrounded by the items for sale, the old man sat quietly. When he noticed my camera, he stopped his hand from holding the string and calmly looked at my camera. He must have looked quite plump in his younger days. The old man's cheeks were a little flabby with flesh that must have once been plump.

The old man was wearing a hat with the Monster Energy logo on it. It seems that Monster Energy is sold here in Indonesia as well. The old man and the energy drink. The image of muscular young men is inevitably associated with energy drinks, so it was an uncomfortable combination. It may be that this old man is not a fan of the drink, but just happened to have a Monster Energy cap on his hand.
