The men were sitting in the seats of an open-built automobile with no doors or windows. At first glance, it looked like a golf course cart, but this place was not a golf course. It was in the city of Berhampore. This vehicle was a public bus, and the men in the photo were its passengers, waiting for it to leave.
The men perched on the vehicle noticed the camera and looked at me in unison. Most of them smiled. One of them gave me a thumbs-up as if he was enjoying himself. The young man on the far right was the only one with a questioning look on his face.
