I came down the stairs from the elevated Paya Thai station and came to the street. It was still a long way from here to the hotel where I planned to stay. I decided to take a cab because I was too lazy to take a bus or a train. The street in front of Paya Thai station, where there is a station of the National Railways of Thailand and Airport Link Rail, is wide. There were many cars on the wide street. I was standing on the sidewalk trying to catch a cab.
It was then that the man in the photo approached me. I don't know why he approached me, but for some reason he was willing to catch a cab with me. I don't know if it was because of him or not, but I got in the cab right away and continued on my way to the inn. He was a nice guy.
By the way to stop a cab in Thailand is a little different from Japan. You don't raise your hand as high as in Japan, but move it sideways around your waist. This way, you can stop a cab like a local.
