The street market in Yangon was crowded. The narrow streets were crowded with many street vendors and shoppers. Vegetables were on sale, fruits were being sold, and the street vendors were huddled together, selling their wares. As I walked through the stalls, I could feel the energy of the locals, as they were selling their wares in a loud voice. However, not all of them were doing business in a loud voice. Some of them are doing business calmly. The young man in the photo is the latter.
The man sitting on the street with a large basket of fruit in front of him was just going through the motions as a crowd of shoppers passed in front of him. He seemed to be lost in thought. I'm sure the man's business is good enough without the need for sales pitches. When I stopped in front of him, his expression did not change. He was staring somewhere in the distance, not even looking at me. As I watched, he kept looking at me and seemed to forget that this place was in the middle of a busy marketplace.
