The Old Town of Galle, a World Heritage Site, is located in a fortress built by a former sovereign state. The old town, which is walled on a peninsula protruding into the sea, has churches, mosques, lighthouses, a clock tower and ordinary houses. You can still see the traditional townscape here.
When I was wandering around, I came to a house with an open window. Through the open window, a woman in a flower-patterned dress was leaning out. She was chatting with her neighbors from inside the house. The woman noticed me and scowled, perhaps a little embarrassed.
