Human-powered vehicles were more common on the boulevard than automobiles
Many cycle rickshaws and bicycles were running. This is one of the biggest streets in Berhampore, and although it is a main road, there were more human-powered vehicles than cars. It is no wonder that many locals take cycle rickshaws rather than walk, even for short distances.
I stood by the side of the road and watched the traffic. Rikshawallah, the cycle rickshaw in front of me, was pedaling and staring at me. He seemed to think I was a customer, standing there by the side of the road.
