There was a pedestrian crossing at the entrance of Yasukuni Jinja. And some people were stopping at a red light. The white lines were seen on the other side of the waiting people. They might finish offering prayers and headed for the station. When I watched, I felt as if the white lines belonged to a ladder which connected the sanctuary to the mundaneness. So they were about to return to the earth where the evil spirits and rivers lived through the ladder.
