There is a bridge named "Manaita-bashi bridge" in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The name "Manaita" means chopping board. That is right. It is that board used in the kitchen for cutting things. There are various theories as to why this bridge was called Manaita-bashi bridge, such as because it used to be a board bridge that looked like two chopping boards passed over each other, or because there was a kitchen town nearby.
There is a small park beside the bridge, and in one corner there is a sculpture named Jujin Yusei. The sculpture in the photo is it. It is said to be the work of an artist named Tsuneo Yamashita, and was made in 1986 to commemorate the approach of Halley's Comet by imitating Jurojin, who is closely associated with the star. The next time Halley's Comet will approach the earth will be in 2061. Jurojin, a hermit, will probably still be alive, but I am not sure if I will be.
