Cross-legged Buddha In Meditation On A Street Corner In Kathmandu

The Buddha statue practiced meditation in the noisy crowd

Shot in the city of Kathmandu, Nepal.

There were Buddha images by the roadside. They were cross-legged in meditation there. The road was busy and many pedestrians walked in front of them. Watching them, I felt admiration. Buddha could keep the tranquil state of mind even though many objects came and went in front of him.

When you saw this photo, some might develop a feeling of strangeness. Nepal was the land of Hinduism. So it is wondered whether the founder of Buddhism was also a sacrament or not. In Hinduism, Buddha is thought of as one of the avatars of Vishnu.
