The little girl was sitting by the wayside
When I walked the stone-paved alleyway, I saw a woman coming from the other side. And a little girl, who was sitting on the ground by the wayside, was watching her coming carefully.
The woman was reducing distances between her and the girl as if she was stalking her prey. Yet the girl didn't run away unlike the animals. Maybe the coming woman was her mother. And the girl was waiting for her coming.
