When I walk around Ponto-cho, I often see women walking around in kimono. On the other hand, there are few men wearing kimono. Just as in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, where many women wear saris, a traditional costume, but many men wear Western-style clothes, which is not uncommon in Japan, I feel that women in Japan prefer to wear traditional costumes.

As I was walking down an alley, a young woman in kimono walked up from the other side. I asked her if I could take her photo, and she gladly agreed. Many women in kimono refuse to be photographed when I ask them. However, this woman was different and I was a little happy. The woman then stood in front of the camera with her umbrella in her hand.
