Young Woman Holding A Coarse Oilpaper Umbrella

Many women wore a Kimono here

Shot in the city of Ponto-Cho, Kyoto.

During I rambled along the streets in this area, I saw many women wearing a Kimono, a traditional Japanese dress. Yet few men wore the traditional dress. Like other Asian countries, women preferred ethnic costumes much more than men also in this country.

A young woman wearing a Kimono came from over there when I walked a lane. So I asked her for shooting. In most cases, my offer was rejected. Yet this woman didn't refuse. She stood in front of me while she put a coarse oilpaper umbrella up.
