There were food stalls lining the side of the wide road that stretched into Aurangabad. This area is a bus stop, and it is very busy. Not only people waiting for the bus to come, but also a lot of people were hanging out here. The elderly woman in the photo was one of the people drinking chai here.
The saree-clad woman had a red, round object on her forehead. The red dot is called a bindi, and it is a kind of Hindu symbol. India is a predominantly Hindu country, so it is not unusual to see people with a red dot between their eyebrows while walking around town. However, you may not see many people with a big circle like this woman.
