Stalls lined the road along the river in Ben Tre. It was like an open-air market. There is a large market building nearby, but there were many people doing business outside of it as well.
At one of the stalls, a woman wearing a conical hat was selling honey. When I think of selling honey, I think of bottled honey, but it was not only bottled honey. But she was selling not only bottled honey but also a lot of hives on the table.
It seems that honey production is very popular here in Ben Tre because they sell not only honey but also hives. But how do I eat a beehive if I buy one? Or do I just squeeze it?
I heard that raw honey with no added sugar or additives is the standard in Vietnam. And un-heated raw honey is said to be especially popular as healthy food. It is true that un-heated honey looks tasty.
When I stood in front of a stall selling such raw honey, a woman wearing a conical hat recommended honey to me with a smile.
