In a corner of the premises of Nezu Jinja Shrine, there is a place lined with small torii gates. Although not quite as large as the others, the torii are lined up as if they were covering a narrow pathway, reminiscent of the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. Although the main deity of Nezu Shrine is Susano-no-Mikoto, there is also an Otome Inari Shrine on the grounds, and the approach to the shrine is lined with torii.
Standing at the end of the pathway and looking out over the torii, the pathway appears to be a tunnel. As I stared at it, a woman appeared in the middle of the tunnel with an umbrella in her hand.
