Two men were lingering next to a truck. Not only in Berhampore, but many people in India linger on street corners. These two men were one of those people. One was smoking a cigarette and the other was wearing a running shirt with a hole in it.
The truck parked there was made by TATA, the car manufacturer in India. But I had never seen TATA cars in Japan. Regardless of how cheap they are, it must be no mean feat for TATA to gain market share in Japan, pushing aside Toyota, Nissan, Honda and other Japanese automakers that are in a league of their own.
