Atago Shrine is located at the top of Mt. Atago. I had to climb a steep staircase in front of me to reach the shrine. Mt. Atago may look like a hill, but the stairs to the top of the mountain are very steep. This steep staircase is called the "Stone Steps for Success" and it is said that if you climb it, you will get ahead in life.

I stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked up the stairs. It took a bit of determination to climb these steep steps. As I watched, an older man in a suit came down the stairs. He looked as if he had given up on his career as he came down the stairs.

Incidentally, Mt. Atago is the highest point in Tokyo's 23 wards. At the top of the mountain was once the site of the NHK broadcast station, from which the radio waves were transmitted.
