As I walked to the outskirts of Ubud, I saw rice paddies spread out. They seemed to go on forever, as far as the eye could see. The rice fields were filled with water, but rice planting had not yet begun. The weather was calm and the surface of the water was still. The flat surface of the water was like a mirror, shining in the soft sunlight.
As I gazed at the scene, a girl came into view. She was walking along the path between the rice paddies. Her silhouette was clearly reflected on the surface of the water as she walked happily, waving her hands in the air.
