Getting on a train to the suburbs of the city, there were many rice fields. The time of harvesting was coming here and the rice grew in abundance. The road I walked was flanked by such rice paddies. And I found a jerry-built scarecrow wearing a helmet.
It was standing alone in the midst of a rice field which was filled with rice. It has no face and the helmet was the only sign which symbolized it was a human being. I wondered whether the birds thought it was a human being.
