As I walked towards the outskirts of Berhampore, I came to a row of wooden furniture-making workshops. On the left and right there were furniture-making workshops, like an artisanal town.
In one of them, there was a barefoot craftsman. He was just taking a break and was drinking chai. It probably wasn't something he brewed himself.
Chai delivery is common in India. There's an established system of having a chaiwallah brought to you as soon as you order it. The locals seemed to use this system often. It must be very convenient for them to deliver the chai because it's a lot of work to brew it.
