From Luang Prabang, where a number of Buddhist temples stand and is registered as a World Heritage site, I took a ferry to the other side of the Mekong River. Unlike Luang Prabang, where there are many tourists, Ban Xieng Maen, a village on the other side of the river, has a peaceful atmosphere. It is a perfect place to relax.
I looked into the distance and saw a series of mountains. Clouds were floating peacefully in the sky, and a small stupa could be seen standing on top of the mountain in the foreground. Laos is a mountainous country and the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia.
