The eating place in the residential area was crowded. I found a place to sit and ordered something cold to drink. This place seemed to be popular with locals. Many men came here and relaxed. Some men talked with their friends. Some people watched TV while drinking and smoking.
The man in this photo was the latter. He wore a pith-helmet-like hat, which was commonly seen that kind of hat in Myanmar. It is similar to Nón lá, which is common in Vietnam. Yet it was a little different from the Vietnamese hat. Its shape was not conical. The top was round.
A foreign movie was broadcasted on TV and the hatted man smoking a cigar without taking his eyes off the TV. Apparently, he was immersed in the movie.
