There was a shop selling musical instruments next to a fishmonger. It sold not Thai musical instruments but Western instruments. Many guitars were displayed in the shop. And a chubby young man was sitting in the storefront. He was its staff.
Those who walked the street were foreign tourists like me. No one stopped over this shop. So he seemed to have more time on his hands than he could handle. He held a guitar and played alone. What he played was a rock melody. Same as other countries in Asia, I thought the young people hankered for American culture. The influences of American culture were seen everywhere in Asian countries. Of course, it was also seen in my country.
After he played, he thumbed up and smiled at me.
