Bodhanath is a sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. A large stupa rises in the center, surrounded by Tibetans circling around it. Some of them may have come from Tibet across the border, but most of them are probably Tibetans living in Nepal. There are many Tibetan refugees in Nepal.
A small hut was built around the stupa, and inside was a prayer wheel. A prayer wheel has a mantra engraved on its side and contains sutras inside. It is believed that the number of times the wheel is rotated is equivalent to the number of sutras chanted, and Tibetans often carry a portable prayer wheel when walking around. I looked into one of the huts and saw a young girl spinning the wheel. The prayer wheel seemed too big for her.
