The sidewalk, which had been turned into a veranda, was straight and wide. There were no streetlights of any kind and it was dimly lit. And there were a number of motorcycles parked on the side of the roadway. Locals tend to get around on motorcycles, and there are a lot of them in Taipei. When I looked at the end of the sidewalk, I saw a signboard that said "masseur". Traveling in a country of Chinese characters, it's very easy to understand what it says.
There was a young boy alone on such a dimly lit sidewalk. He was staring at the road surface with his hands on the ground. He was staring very intently. I wondered if he has found some insects. The boy who has been staring at the road surface did not notice me at all as I hold my camera.
