Figures Walking The Precinct

Parent and child heading for prayer hall

The parent and child headed for the prayer hall

Shot at Meiji Jingu, a Shinto shrine in Harajuku, Tokyo.

Emperor Meiji was enshrined here. The great emperor who accomplished the Meiji Restoration was apotheosized. Although many worshipers came here, most of them were not interested in the apotheosis.

A mother was walking the courtyard in front of the main hall while she was taking her daughter by the hand. They were heading for the prayer's hall. I wondered what they made a wish to the divinized emperor.
