An arch-shaped hole, created by wave erosion, has opened in a large rock towering over Sunayama Beach on Miyako Island. Beyond the hole was the ocean. When I came to the rock to take a look at the scene, I saw a man standing in the hole. The man was silhouetted.
The man standing in the hole remained still and motionless. With his hands on his hips, he seemed to be enjoying the scene to his heart's content. I watched the man's back for a while and then decided to take my camera. I thought the sight of the silhouette in the hole and the sea spreading out beyond it was picturesque in itself.
