An elongated silhouette floated above the sea. It is the silhouette of the Ikema Ohashi Bridge. The Ikema Ohashi is a 1,425-meter-long bridge connecting Miyako and Ikema Islands. From where I was standing, I could not see any cars on the bridge. The bridge appears to be just standing there on the sea. A bridge with no moving objects in sight may look like a ruin, depending on one's point of view. In fact, such concrete artifacts will remain as proof of the existence of mankind even after our demise.
And yet, a single road running over the sea is a bit scary. Am I the only one who feels uneasy because there is no escape route in case something happens?
