On the outskirts of the town of Pyay, there was a row of houses on stilts, and women were hanging out in the shade between the houses. It was probably time to take a break from the housework and rest. The housewives of the neighborhood seemed to have gathered there.
As I looked at the women sitting in the circle, I saw one of them being groomed by another woman. The woman who was fiddling with her friend's head with her hands looked like she was grooming or pulling out her gray hair. And another woman was vaguely watching the scene.
Apparently, the people gathered here were grooming each other. In a village with no TV or radio, this kind of grooming must be a form of entertainment and socializing. It is truly social grooming.
