The girls sat in an alley in a densely populated residential area, a somber mood enveloping them

The alleys in the densely populated residential area were a favorite playground for children, and there were children playing all over the place. But that doesn't mean that all the children are running around innocently. Some of the children were surrounded by a somber atmosphere. Such was the case with the girls in this photo. They were sitting on the side of the alley with a bored look on their faces as if they were surrounded by the gloom.

Though they were sitting side by side, they were not talking to each other, each looking blankly in a different direction. I didn't know if something bad has happened or if it's coming. In any case, these girls did not seem to have the innocence that children tend to have.

It is said that girls generally grow up faster than boys. These girls may have shed the innocence of children, and have already taken on the gloominess that all adults feel, to varying degrees. However, the middle-aged man thought that it was a little too early for them to have such an ennui atmosphere.
