There was a gas station on the main street of Bontoc. The shape of the gas station is not different from those seen in Japan and other countries. The gas station has a tall roof that allows even tall trucks to enter. What made it different from the rest of the country was that instead of seeing a single car parked at the fueling machine, there were many peddlers sitting on their haunches.
The vendors were selling vegetables and fruits under the roof of the gas station. The area in front of the filling machine was occupied by the vendors. It had become quite cumbersome for automobiles to enter the gas station at this moment to refuel.
