The children were energetically playing around next to the local adults washing themselves at the water's edge. The banks of the Hooghly River, which flows through Kolkata, were also a playground for children. The children happily jumped from the riverbank to the river again and again. As soon as they entered the water, they would come up to land and disappear back into the water.
Watching the boys, it seemed as if they would soon be able to fly. Until that day came, the boys would continue to fly to the river. But I wasn't ready to jump in. It would be great to be able to fly, but more than that, the water in the river wasn't clean by any means.
