Going abroad is always an exciting experience. I was so excited that I arrived at Haneda Airport too early, and after going through the check-in and departure procedures, there was nothing left to do. While browsing through the Duty-Free Shop, nothing attracted me. I had too much time on my hands, so I wandered the aisles of the airport, going this way and that.

In the meantime, I came to the end of an aisle. The aisle was dead-ended by a glass fence, and I could see the boarding gate below. The boarding time for the plane to take off from this gate seemed to be a long time away, and there was no one sitting on the benches placed around the gate.

As I was gazing blankly from above, crewmen appeared. They walked in through the boarding gate, roller bags in tow. It was not yet boarding time, but I guessed that they would be getting in first to prepare for departure. Outside the glass window, I could see a Japan Airlines plane flying in from somewhere and running down the runway.
