There was a chair at the end of an empty, dimly lit aisle
It was already late afternoon and the market in Kuala Pilah was deserted. The best time for business had long passed. The corridors of the deserted market were dimly lit. As I walked down the corridor, feeling as if I was exploring the market alone, I saw a chair in the back of the hallway. Of course, no one was sitting down. The people who would be resting here must have already finished their work and are relaxing somewhere else.
I stopped in the middle of the hallway and listened carefully, but heard nothing. The market was quiet. The empty hallway made me feel a little lonely.
