A man with a beard and a turban was waiting for the bus at the Kuala Pilah bus stop. Judging from its appearance, the man is a Sikh. There are many people of Indian descent in Malaysia, and it seems that there are many Sikhs. I guess they are the descendants of people who immigrated during the British occupation.
When I think of religion to cover one's hair, I think of Muslims at first. However, Sikhs also cover their hair for reasons of religious law. Furthermore, while women are the only ones who cover their hair in Islam, men in Sikhism also cover their hair. When most people think of Indians, they think of people with turbans, but that is the image of the Sikhs, a minority in India. During the British occupation, many Sikhs were appointed as officials and military personnel, and many of them traveled abroad, which is why they were given such an image.
Incidentally, Tiger Jeet Singh, a professional wrestler who was active in Japan and wore a turban during his matches, is also a Sikh.
