There were people painting on the ginkgo trees in Hongo campus

Sunday Painter at Hongo Campus
Shot at Hongo campus of Tokyo university in Tokyo

The Hongo campus is lined with ginkgo trees, and at the end of the trees stands the Yasuda Auditorium. The auditorium was built with a donation from Yasuda Zenjiro, the founder of the Yasuda Zaibatsu, one of the origins of the Mizuho Financial Group. Its official name is the University of Tokyo's Grand Auditorium. Zenjiro Yasuda donated anonymously, saying, "I don't donate for fame, it must be as good deeds done in secret," so before his death, it was not known that the donation was made by him.

I visited the campus when the leaves of the ginkgo trees were changing color. The ginkgo leaves that had fallen on the ground were forming a carpet. This was a perfect image of autumn in full swing. On the tree-lined street, Sunday painters were hurriedly moving their brushes to capture this scene on the canvas. I peeked into a canvas on the easel and found that they depicted the splendor of the season, just like in the real world.
