As I walked along, I saw a building with an open window. It is hot in Pyay, and even in March, the average maximum temperature in Pyay during the dry season is over 37 degrees C. This is the hottest time of the year. The fact that the windows are open in such heat is proof that there is no air conditioning. The humidity is also high, so it must be very hot inside the rooms.
I could see a man in the room, sweating still just by imagining it. He was slumped by the window with his hand outstretched. You might think that no matter how hot it is, the locals are used to it because it's always hot for them. But the scorching hell that continues day after day is surely sapping the locals' energy as well.
