The father and son were cooling off in the cool Santo Domingo Church
The town of Chiapa de Corso was extremely hot, but it was cool inside the Santo Domingo Church. Even on a hot day, it was cool inside the stone structure. The high-ceilinged church was spacious and perfect for resting, and a boy and his father were sitting on chairs to rest. These two must have come here to cool off too.
A large altar was set up at the end of the nave, but I could not see it from where I was standing. It is dimly lit inside. I felt that if I took a seat in such a cool, dimly lit place, I would fall asleep immediately, regardless of whether mass had started or the choir was singing.
