An Incense Stick Stuck In The Incense Burner

Red incense stick in the incense burner

Only one red incense stick was stuck in the burner

Shot at Joju-In, a Buddhist temple in Meguro Tokyo.

Nobody was in the precinct when I visited. The temple of old standing was wrapped with the silence. The principal image of this temple is Octopus. According to folk legend, the octopus has a power to heal bodily ills.

An incense burner was placed in front of the main hall and an incense stick was stuck in it. Just before I came, someone seemed to come to pray. The incense stick was burning with the hope for cure.
