In the midst of the close-packed area, there is a small Shinto shrine called Karasumori Jinja. Although it is hard to spot, it has a long history. According to legend, it was built in 940.
I stopped just in front of the entrance and watched the hall. During watching, many people passed by me. Some people were attracted by the shrine and some people didn't. And the young man in the photo also passed by while he fiddled his smart phone. He seemed not to be interested in the small shrine.
