Although it was not raining, the woman putting an umbrella up was walking the alleyway. She might open the umbrella to avoid drops from washes above the street. Many poles were spanned over the lane and many laundries were hung in this lane for granted.
At the end of the lane, a skyscraper was under construction. The old streets like here would be redeveloped in the not-so-distant future. And this kind of scenery could vanish away.
