Young sisters were walking in close proximity under one umbrella in an alley in Bhaktapur, where a light rain was pouring down. When it rains on the brick streets with no street trees, all the trash is washed away and the whole city seems to be washed clean.
A woman was peering out of a window beyond her sisters. She is probably watching the rain. Bhaktapur was suffering from a chronic shortage of water. At the hotel, we could barely flush the toilets, let alone take a shower. And yet, every day it rained in the city, repeating the absurdity of the world.
