As I passed by the school, I saw a car parked in front of it, with a boy and a girl inside. They were both wearing their school uniforms, and the girl was wearing a tie. I guessed they had just finished school and were about to get into the car to go home. When I approached them and pointed my camera at them, they smiled at me through the car window. They seemed to enjoy looking at the camera.
I took this photo in the Old Town of Galle, which is also registered as a World Heritage Site. In Japan, a World Heritage Site is almost like a village revitalization project. It seems to have only the meaning of being designated as a tourist attraction by an authority so that tourists will come and drop money. The historical significance seems to be secondary. However, in this case, it is only a historic area that has been designated. When I walked around the area designated as a World Heritage site, I did not see many tourists. There was normal life there, and a school as well.
