After a long walk through the mountains, I finally arrived at the village. This is a small village in the mountains of Kalinga Province in northern Luzon. As soon as I entered the village, I could hear the charming voices of children. Children are very perceptive. As soon as they spotted me, they came out of the building and ran up to me. In no time at all, I was surrounded by local children.
The three girls in the photo were also curious and came around me. In the northern part of the Philippines, babysitting seems to be the role of the girls. Walking around the village, it was not unusual to see children babysitting, and most of them were girls.
Two of the three girls with bobbed hair were also carrying babies. They seemed to be in the middle of babysitting, but having spotted the unusual foreigner, they decided it was not the time to be babysitting. The baby wasn't interested in me at all, while the girl holding the baby was looking straight at me.
