Moreover, it is difficult to understand how to use the ticket machines until you get used to them. The Yuyu Card frees you from such complications.

After entering the ticket gate, there was an escalator stretching toward the platform. Everyone was on the up escalator and no one was on the down escalator. I saw that the people on the escalators were standing with their left side open. It seemed that the rule in Taipei was the opposite of that in Tokyo and the same as in Osaka.
