In Taipei, as in Japan, people stood only on one side of the escalator

I entered the MRT ticket gate. In Taiwan, as in Japan, IC cards are widely used, and there is no need to buy a ticket every time. Just touch the card to enter. It is very convenient to have a card called “Yuyu Card. You can also use it to pay for purchases at convenience stores. When you travel abroad, it is often quite difficult to buy a ticket for a vehicle. Even if you look at the fare list, you may not know which station you are at or where your destination station is. Moreover, it is difficult to understand how to use the ticket machines until you get used to them. The Yuyu Card frees you from such complications.

After entering the ticket gate, there was an escalator stretching toward the platform. Everyone was on the up escalator and no one was on the down escalator. I saw that the people on the escalators were standing with their left side open. It seemed that the rule in Taipei was the opposite of that in Tokyo and the same as in Osaka.
