Because of the weather, few pedestrians walked the streets. I walked a street in Luan Prabang without uttering a word under the strong sun. Meanwhile, I found a Buddhist monk walking at the end of the street. He was putting a black sunshade up to avoid the strong sun.
Many Buddhist temples were scattered and many Buddhist monks were living in Luang Prabang. Theravada Buddhism was believed here. So it was not uncommon to become a priest for the locals. I wondered what percent of the population renounced the world as a Buddhist monk.
