A man was standing against the wire netting in the narrow street in Ho Chi Minh City. He was keeping his hands in pockets and seemed to have nothing to do. He stood still alone there. Maybe he was waiting for someone who was a long time coming.
When I approached, he smiled faintly. I wondered whether he smiled bashfully or he was amazed at person who had no sense of time. Yet I thought he smiled because of the latter. After I walked away, he kept waiting in the same place.
