A boy was standing on the other side of the wire fence that stretched along the roadside in Sonargaon. His lips were pursed in a tight line, and he was staring at my camera without saying a word. Even though I was in the middle of releasing the shutter, the boy's face remained tense.
Maybe it is a nerve-wracking experience to have your picture taken by a stranger. If I could speak Bengali, I might have been able to loosen the boy's tension a little, but alas, all I could say hello. The boy kept a pouty face even after the picture was taken. He did not open up to me until the end.
