Face On The Other Side Of The Wire Netting

Face on the other side of wire netting

The boy was standing on the other side of the wire netting

Shot in the city of Sonargaon, Bangladesh.

A boy was standing on the other side of the wire netting. He was gazing at my SLR camera through the wire netting without saying a word. During I released the shutter, his face was frozen.

To be taken photos by a foreign stranger might make him nervous. If I could speak Bengali, I could ease his tension. Even after shooting, he put a sullen expression on his face. He didn't open his mind to me until the last moment.
