Around Rangpur, it is still commonplace to transport goods by human power. Trucks that run on gasoline, even small ones, must be expensive for the average person. The man in the photo was straddling a tricycle with a load bed on the back. In a world where trucks are rare, tricycles like this one are used to transport goods. It may be inefficient, but it is certainly environmentally friendly. But as the country of Bangladesh develops, the people of this area will probably come to use gasoline-powered vehicles for transportation.
