There was a diner in an alleyway that led to a large building, and inside, the locals were eating. Perhaps because it was not mealtime, the dining room was deserted with few customers. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't even go inside, but I just wandered around the store.
In the meantime, a man wearing a red T-shirt came from the other side. He was carrying a large object on his shoulder. The fleecy object was a lion dance mask. This man was the lion dance man I had just met in the middle of the alley. One by one, he had finished going around the shops. He seemed to have come to the end of the alley to take a break.
The man gave me a look that said I was still hanging around when I recognized the figure, but I quickly broke into a smile. I guess so. I had just given him the money to pray for a good new year. The man must have been reminded of that too. It's a small thing, but I've never been paid well and treated badly in any country. I felt like that was evidenced here as well. As evidence of this, the old woman standing behind the man, who has not given any money, was looking at me suspiciously.
