An old man I met on the side of the road in Kathmandu was wearing a cap called a Bhadgaunle Topi. Many people wear the same kind of cap as this old man. It is a traditional cap in Nepal.
The old man had a nice, well-groomed beard, although it was turning white. Both ends hang down. If the two ends of the beard were bent upward, it would be a magnificent kaiser beard, but I didn't feel that much enthusiasm.
I realized that I had been distracted by the beard and hurriedly looked at the old man's entire face, which had a blank expression on it. His gaze was unfocused as if he was looking at me but not at me. Perhaps he was nervous because a stranger had asked him to take his picture.
